Left 4 Dead 2 gets an update, The Last Stand, made by the community

Lofts 4 Death 2 – Valve Software’s zombie – themed first-person shooter – came out in 2009. Now, more than a decade later, it’s getting a fan-made update. It’s the first piece of new content added to the game since 2012. More remarkable is the fact that the team behind it seems to have the blessing of the creators from Seattle. The announcement was made on Wednesday on the now old website Left 4 Dead.

“It was many years ago that the infection first hit,” reads the blog post. “Radio silence, no sign of life, nothing but lingering hope … CEDA will not save us. But there is hope! A few brave souls have continued the fight against all supremacy, and soon we can all benefit from it. their resilience. ”

It ends with a note that more details are coming soon, and linked to the teaser trailer we embedded above.

The update is called The Last Stand, and refers to a level with a lighthouse theme that was previously only available in the original Lofts 4 Dea. According to the YouTube channel Valve News Network (VNN), it really seems like a partnership between Valve and its community to refresh the game for the first time in almost a decade.

There is precedent for this kind of release for Lofts 4 Death 2. In 2011, Valve announced that it had given its blessing to another update made by the municipality. Left 4 Death 2: Cold Stream was released later in 2012, and even included an Xbox 360 version.
