Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of Donald Trump and senior adviser to the White House, said – per Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Jacobs – that he wants to reach the star of LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers after he and other NBA players Wednesday playoff- have boycotted games,
“What I would like to see from the players in the NBA – again, they have the luxury of taking a night off from work, most Americans do not,” he said. “I would like to see them start with concrete solutions that are productive.”
Among the many, many problems with that quote is the fact that he, who works in the White House, wants to talk to James about solutions to problems of social justice that plague our country.
But there is also the fact that he wants to talk to the player who has apparently done more than anyone else when it comes to “concrete solutions” to those very problems.
Just look at this recent tweet from James, which talks about his I Promise school in Akron and more than a voice he formed with fellow athletes to work on fighting voter oppression.
