For Lauren, writing the book was a therapeutic and exhausting process because she wanted to make people understand that their marriage, though terribly loving, was not flawless.
“It’s so easy to look at our family and our marriage from the outside and just see what looks like a perfect, happy family, but it’s just not realistic,” she told E! News in an exclusive interview. That she wanted to “share with the struggle to get there like the struggle we have now, and just be real and open with people so they don’t look at us and like‘ Oh, they have it all together , ‘they’re so perfect,’ because that could not be further from the truth. ‘
