Apple made many improvements to the beloved MacBook Air when it introduced the latest model in March. Now the laptop is even more attractive as Amazon and B&H Photo cut $ 100 from its starting price, lowering the base model to $ 899. This is the first time in nearly a month that it has been this low.

The base laptop includes a Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. But an updated model, running on a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, is also discounted by $ 100 at both retailers. It’s a good sale to consider if you need a new laptop, prefer macOS to other operating systems, and don’t want to spend too much (MacBook Air is the cheapest option, even when it’s not on sale). It’s also a great student laptop, and it’s now even better at this sale price.
The new MacBook Air got a score of 87 from us, mainly because Apple fixed some of the major issues with the previous model, but didn’t mess with the good things. Key among the improvements is the new Magic Keyboard – the polarizing butterfly keys of yesteryear are gone, so now you will have a much easier and more comfortable time to type on this laptop. Apple also doubled the base amount of storage to 256GB, but kept the starting price of $ 999, so you’ll get more value for your money when you buy the new Air.
The laptop also has a beautiful 13-inch Retina display and an excellent, smooth trackpad. The TouchID gives you an easy way to authenticate and log in with your fingerprint, and its weight of less than 3 pounds means that the new MacBook Air is as portable as previous generations. Our biggest complaint is its poor selection of ports, which includes only one headphone jack and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. While it would be helpful to have only one USB-A port on the machine, it’s a small price to pay for a solid ultraportable.
