Las Vegas man accused of inciting a homeless man to a deadly trick is arrested

A Las Vegas man authorities say “incited” a homeless man to do a deadly cartwheel for $ 6 and broadcast the stunt live last month was arrested.

Keonte Jones, 28, was hired Tuesday on suspicion of willful disregard for a person’s safety, a serious crime, in the death of Larry Coner, 55, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement. .

Coner had approached Jones asking for money on June 20, according to the statement. Jones offered him $ 6 to perform the trick north of downtown Las Vegas, according to the statement.

In a haunting 10-minute video of the incident, Coner can be seen circling and then landing on his head. Authorities said he suffered a serious spinal injury and died 10 days later.

In the video, Jones seems to laugh as Coner lies motionless on the ground.

“You have no remorse,” you can hear a woman say in a moment.

A woman who identified herself as Coner’s sister described him as a humble man who had struggled in life.

“Why don’t we have compassion for another?” He said in a Facebook post. “I’m so squashed I can’t eat.”

It was not clear if Jones has an attorney. Court records did not list one.
