Large 14-hour line forms as Colorado gets first in-and-out burger joints


That menu shouldn’t be too much of a mystery after all.

Colorado fans of the iconic California chain of in-and-out burgers waited on the lines of the epic on Friday with the opening of the first two outlets in the state.

In Ora Rora, cops were called in to quell a mob that crashed cars and customers around a new fast food restaurant and a nearby mall. Customers told a local ABC affiliate that they waited about 14 hours to get their hamburgers, fries and shakes.

“It’s official, the traffic is all around the mall right now in Double Animal Style.” Aurora Police tweeted, Using a chain-like chain lingo. “We’re helping to manage the huge traffic response.” A subsequent post warned of a 12-hour wait, and another said the line “wrapped twice around the mall.” They estimated the line was 1.5 to 2 miles long.

The in-and-out weekend is expected to sell about 60,000 burgers over the weekend at the Rora store, the Denver Post reported.

Elsewhere in Colorado Springs, according to the Gazette, a native of Southern California who parked his Toyota, which looked like a ‘Ghostbusters’ car, crashed into a joint drive-through lane Tuesday night.

I had time so I decided to come down on Tuesday and make sure I was the first, ”Colorado Transplant Ken Vizini told the Gazette. “It’s been a fun and exciting experience right now. I’m not sorry about that.”

The family-owned N-Out also has locations in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas and Reg Reagan. They have announced plans to open at least seven more locations in Colorado.
