Lance Lynn was messy last night. Despite the Rangers often struggling defensively behind him, Lynn was able to get through nine innings of work on 109 fields for a complete victory, while she could only run one deserved run.
Honestly, it should be zero, but there was rarely a ball that a Rangers fielder could pass without knocking it over like a seal dressed as a clown at a circus behind Lynn last night.
However, Lynn is one of the few difference makers the Rangers have and that proved true last night, when Lynn broke her record at year 3-0 and his ERA dropped to 1.11.
The end line: 9 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 Ks. Masterful.
Player of the game: The month after Lynn’s planet last night was Nick Solak who made two difficult plays in center field and was by far the most impressive Ranger at the plate with a 3-for-4 evening that included two doubles and a solo home run .
Next: The Rangers send Kyle Gibson to the mound on Saturday night, where he will face off against RHP German Marquez for the Rockies. First pitch from Coors Field is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. CT.
