After months of delays, Lana Del Rey’s Violet is blooming
The alternative pop singer released her audiobook of Violet bent backwards on the grass, which presents 14 poems read by Del Rey, with music performed by his frequent collaborator Jack antonoff (Bleachers, Fun).
Violet It was announced last December before a release scheduled for January. However, it was delayed after the singer’s family was robbed. And then, the pandemic.
The hardcover and ebook editions will include more than 30 original Del Rey poems and will be released on September 29 through Simon & Schuster, with CDs, vinyl, picture discs and packages set to land shortly thereafter on October 2.
Coinciding with the album cover, the book cover features a painting of a leafy tree decorated with four citrus.
As previously reported, half of the collection’s proceeds will be donated to Native American organizations.
Violet bent backwards on the grass it is “the poem in the book’s title and the first poem I wrote of many,” explains Del Rey.
“Some of which came to me in full, which I dictated and then wrote, and some of which I labored laboriously separating each word to make the perfect poem,” he continues. “They are eclectic and honest and don’t try to be.” nothing but what they are and that is why I am proud of them, especially because the spirit in which they were written was very authentic. “

In what is shaping up to be a busy couple of months for Lana, Violet will be closely followed by the release of a new album of musical works, Chemtrails on the Country Club.
It will be released on September 5, it is the follow-up of Norman F — ing Rockwell, his sixth studio album which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200.
