Xiaomi may have just helped produce the most affordable Lamborghini ever – and the only electric one. Just do not plan to take it on the highway, as the new Lamborghini electric go-kart is built almost for the track.
Officially known as the Ninebot GoKart Pro Lamborghini Edition, the new electric go-kart was produced through a collaboration between Xiaomi and Lamborghini.
The build is similar to an earlier Segway Ninebot design, and yet gets some serious performance upgrades.
The new go-kart from Lamborghini Edition reaches speeds of up to 25 mph (40 km / h) thanks to its detachable Xiaomi self-balancing scooter mounted in the rear. The rear tires are also swapped for drift-friendly tires, while the front gets higher traction rubber for safer turning.
There also seems to be real Ackermann steering, functional headlights, and a rear wing, which Xiaomi claims adds to actual performance for aerodynamics and manual handling. There are even four air ducts to supply ram air cooling to the 432Wh battery.
That battery is apparently enough to support the Lamborghini Edition electric go-kart for a maximum of 62 laps around a 400-meter track, or about 25 km (15.5 miles).
There are also four different speed limits that can be applied to the go-kart and accessible via a smartphone app, which can be good if you take your kids off the wheel. But with a large wheelchair and a maximum passenger weight of 220 kg (100 kg), adults would also be able to enjoy the go-kart.
There are also built-in Bluetooth speakers that can be used to play your own music, or to pump out pre-programmed Lamborghini V8 or V12 sounds.
If it was me, I would let go of the dinosaur sounds and enjoy the electric whirr, but I’m a little biased.
The Lamborghini Edition electric go-kart is apparently not street legal, so don’t expect it to drive to the track. Instead, it actually stands out to make it easier to fit in a car.
For those who want to snag their own electric Lamborghini varieties, the go-kart tomorrow sale starts at around $ 1,450, though I hope you don’t mind paying in Chinese Yuan.
