Kyle Shanah has provided injury updates to some 49 people after an undivided Week 2 win

Had Sunday’s injuries not been enough, the team would have faced several additional shocks surrounding the Week 2 win over the New York Jets. The team plane, which was scheduled to take them from San Jose International Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport, was found to be damaged, forcing the team to fly out of San Francisco International Airport, about an hour’s drive from their original source.

The team is spending the week in West Virginia between their 2nd and 3rd matchups against the Jets and the New York Giants. Already working with a long list of players working through various ailments, 49 will have to wait a little longer to determine the severity of their injuries. The team had to rely on a mobile “MRI truck” to assess players facing injuries while on the road.

Kyle Shanah revealed that the truck had mechanical problems, which led to a delay in player evaluation, in particular, the two first-round picks in San Francisco, the condition of Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas. So far, there has been no update on both players, both of whom suffered knee injuries in back-to-back plays on Sunday. The team currently relies on a local hospital to help with the MRI scan.

Speaking of other injuries, Jimmy Garoppolo suffered an ankle sprain after Quinn Williams’ sack in the first quarter. Geropolo played observantly through injury before ruling out in the second half. According to Shahnahan, Garappolo has a chance to compete in Week 3 against the Giants, given the mildness of his injury.

Rahim Mostert left the game before hightime, and, like Geropolo, was ruled out in the second half of the contest. It was determined that the running back had to face the MCL’s sprain and is likely to be out against the Giants. Mossart is also awaiting the birth of her second child, who is due to arrive in the coming days, after the team had earlier agreed on an arrangement to let her run back for the birth of her son.

The 49ers could be without running back against the Giants as Tavin Coleman is dealing with a knee sprain that occurred late Sunday evening in the game. Shanah noted that he is very concerned about the severity of Coleman’s knee, as the team is awaiting results by MRI.

Additionally, defensive lineman DJ Jones is battling a leg injury and Dre Greenla suffers from thigh inflammation. The team will assess both defensive positions as the week progresses.

Speaking of players hoping to recover from injury, De Ford missed out on Sunday with a neck strain. Additional testing also found that Pass Rusher’s injury was related to his back. Due to the severity of the neck and back injuries, the 49ers are wary of Ford’s return and will continue to monitor his health.

George Kittle missed Sunday’s game while returning from a knee injury. When San Francisco resumes practice on Wednesday, the team plans to evaluate the possibility of a tight end for compensation.

Jason Verrett, who suffered a hamstring injury during training camp, has been missing since the start of the season. Shanahan believes there should be a corner hand during Wednesday’s session, which could prove beneficial as 49 people are without Richard Sherman (calf).

Hopefully, with all the shocks the team has endured, the 49 players can get some encouraging news going forward in Week 3.
