White House former adviser Jared Kushner said Sunday that he “has no fear” when it comes to allowing his own children to go to school after the coronavirus pandemic.
Kushner – who shares three children with his wife, first daughter Ivanka Trump – said he would ‘absolutely’ send her to school in a interview on CBS ‘Face the Nation.
“Our school no longer opens five days a week,” he told the program. “I wish they would, but we’re absolutely sending our kids back to school, and I’m not afraid of that.”
The president’s son-in-law added that he was not worried that his children would be exposed to the virus.
“Children have a six times higher chance of dying from the flu than from the coronavirus, so based on the data I’ve seen, I do not believe this is a risk,” he said.
Kushner said the president has taken a ‘very aggressive approach’ to tackling the coronavirus pandemic, including promoting social distance and pursuing the search for a cure quickly.
“Most importantly, the president has really advanced the use of a lot of therapeutics, which brings the death toll from the case better, which has been a good thing and a vaccine apparently followed quickly,” Kushner said.
