Kroger Co., the nation’s largest traditional grocery store and the parent company of Fry’s Food Stores, will require all customers to wear a mask in their stores in an effort to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
Kroger (NYSE: KR) released a statement that the company will require all customers in all parts of the country, including Fry’s grocery stores, to wear a mask when shopping at its stores beginning Wednesday, July 22.
“With the increase in Covid-19 cases across the country, as the United States grocery store, we are committed to doing our part to help reduce the spread of the virus,” a Kroger spokesman said in a statement provided to the Cincinnati Commercial Mail.
The grocery store said its top priority during the pandemic has been to provide a safe environment for its employees and customers while providing open stores, e-commerce solutions and an operational supply chain so that communities have access to fresh food and affordable and essential items.
