Kristen Wiig reveals the 1 reason she really does not like to reward ‘bridesmaids’


For the public, Bridesmaids stands as one of the funniest, most successful comedies of the 2010s. The movie was so enormous, in fact, that for a while a sequel seemed immutable. While no follow-up came together, Bridesmaids remains star / co-writer Kristen Wiig’s most beloved hit. However, they would rather not even watch the movie over the years.

Kristen Wiig launched into movies after leaving ‘Saturday Night Live’

‘Bridesmaids’ of 2011 earned Wiig an Oscar nomination

Part of something made Bridesmaids such a surprise is how poorly K-comedies with female lead had been associated with the office. Wis, The Hangover had hit it a few years earlier. But Wiig and co-writer Annie Mumolo’s film treated female friendship in a way that most Hollywood comedies led by women did not succeed.

And for their striving, Wiig and Mumolo landed a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. In fact, there is momentum and support behind it Bridesmaids even propelled McCarthy to a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Given the limited presence of comedies at the Oscars, this was no small feat.

So why does Wiig not want to watch the movie now?

But the actor does not want to see the film again for one important reason

As it turns out, Wiig’s aversion is to look again Bridesmaids has nothing to do with the film itself. After all, it’s more about how she does not like herself on television. Despite several years on SNL, Wiig is not a fan of looking at her own material, she told InStyle.

‘I’ll see a little [of Bridesmaids] when I surf on channel, but watching yourself on TV is bizarre, ‘Wiig admits. “I think, ‘God, I was young. ‘Look at my skin. ”

Wiig is generally proud of the film itself, though she admits that there is one sequence she has no fan of. According to the actor, the studio pushed for the famous scene for food poisoning inside Bridesmaids. As the only instance of crude-out humor in the film, it makes sense that it was not part of the original vision. No word on when Wiig clicks directly into the movie during that scene.
