Granny Anatomy Fans broke up when Alex Carrev (Justin Chambers) left Joe Carrev, and Joe Wilson (Camilla Luddington) in season 16. Suddenly until this couple seemed like an outline of the goals of the relationship, they weren’t. Now, runner Krista Vernoff has an update on Jo In Granny Anatomy Season 17. And it’s not as heartbreaking as we expected.

In the middle Granny Anatomy Season 16, along with everyone else at the Alex Gray Sloan Memorial, haunted Joan. Fans guessed the worst, as many viewers believe that Alex just won’t pack up and walk away without saying goodbye. But that is exactly what happened.
At the beginning of Granny Anatomy Season 16 Episode 16 – Title “Leave a Light” – Sent letters from Alex Joe, Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo), Miranda Bailey (Moon Wilson), and Richard Weber (James Pickens Jr.). Alex was reunited with his ex-wife, Izzy Stevens (Catherine Hegel), when Medith’s colleagues arrived for his medical license hearing. But Easy wasn’t the only person who found it.
It turned out, when there was a metastatic melanoma, IG used a fetus made with Alex. She gave birth to twins named Eli and Alexis. So Alex decided to leave Joan for Easy and her kids. Now, he lives on a farm in Kansas.

When “Keep the Light On” aired in April 2020, Vernoff opened up about Joanna’s head space after Alex’s shocking departure, and how quickly the character was able to move.
“I have experienced my life where the pain of not knowing is much worse than the very painful truth,” The Granny Anatomy showrunner told TVline. He also reminded fans that if several episodes went by worrying about Alex’s whereabouts.
“Joe imagined every possible bad situation,” Vernoff continued. “Even though one of them came true, she was allowed to proceed only because of the information. It seemed like he was grieving for the relationship the week before he received the letter. “

Granny Anatomy Season 16 ended four episodes early because the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic stopped production in March 2020. Then in April, speaking to Variety, Vernoff revealed that the final episode featured “many levy-if come medi”.
“I think Camilla has gotten the right to play a little lighter story,” he said. “It has always been my experience that there is a way to grieve that is dramatic, and a way to grieve that is mostly ridiculous, in life and on television. And we leaned towards letting him play comedy. ”
Vernoff also hinted that Johnny’s story would remain the same Granny Anatomy Returned for season 17. Then in an interview with TV Insider, published on October 8, Vernoff confirmed plans to move on. She notes that Alex has yet to get a new last name for the character even after the divorce. But in the end, he will have a little heartfelt pleasure with Levi.
“They’re fun,” Vernoff said of Joe and Levi. “It’s an unexpected and joyful friendship. I’m glad they are each other. ”
