Krista Vernoff reveals what to do if Alex Carav exits


Granny Anatomy Fans broke up when Alex Carrev (Justin Chambers) left Joe Carrev, and Joe Wilson (Camilla Luddington) in season 16. Suddenly until this couple seemed like an outline of the goals of the relationship, they weren’t. Now, runner Krista Vernoff has an update on Jo In Granny Anatomy Season 17. And it’s not as heartbreaking as we expected.

When “Keep the Light On” aired in April 2020, Vernoff opened up about Joanna’s head space after Alex’s shocking departure, and how quickly the character was able to move.

“I have experienced my life where the pain of not knowing is much worse than the very painful truth,” The Granny Anatomy showrunner told TVline. He also reminded fans that if several episodes went by worrying about Alex’s whereabouts.

“Joe imagined every possible bad situation,” Vernoff continued. “Even though one of them came true, she was allowed to proceed only because of the information. It seemed like he was grieving for the relationship the week before he received the letter. “

Granny Anatomy Season 16 ended four episodes early because the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic stopped production in March 2020. Then in April, speaking to Variety, Vernoff revealed that the final episode featured “many levy-if come medi”.

“I think Camilla has gotten the right to play a little lighter story,” he said. “It has always been my experience that there is a way to grieve that is dramatic, and a way to grieve that is mostly ridiculous, in life and on television. And we leaned towards letting him play comedy. ”
