Kirby Smart Georgia Football Closed on Alternative Uniforms: Top 5 Storyline

ATHENS – Kirby Smart does not believe that an alternative uniform helps the team to play better.

In fact, Georgia’s head coach believes they could be distracted.

“I don’t get into the whole thing,” Smart said in his weekly radio show, “Uniforms will make them work faster. “If anything, you’re worried about the day it gets interrupted.

“We tried to get them all out with the release, let them understand that it’s not a big deal that they will wear uniforms of different colors,” Smart said. “The more they think about it, the less they will think about their opponent and what they need to do to play a good game.”

Smart, who wore an alternate red jersey and black pants uniform during his career with the Bulldogs, admitted that red pants Georgia wears on Saturday at 4pm in the season-opening of both teams in Arkansas (TV: SEC Network). Game.

“I like the broad white stripes on the red, it’s a kind of pops,” said Smart. “I know the players are excited about them.

“I’m glad they got a chance to remember and recognize the team at the 1980 National Championships that did very well (won).” “I always thought it looked classic and sharp.”

The Bulldogs wore red pants with white jerseys to open the 1980 season with a win in Tennessee. The team’s jersey will have a patch in memory of the 1980 national championship team.

Georgia also has a black optional jersey, but Smart has yet to say when he will wear his bulldogs. Some suggested a urn burn game on October 3, but no announcement was made next.
