Kimberly Guilfoyle, the girlfriend of Donald Trump’s oldest son and a key fundraising official for the President’s re-election campaign, has tested positive for the coronavirus. The test result returned on Friday shortly before she was due to attend the July 4 event at Mount Rushmore. Guilfoyle has no symptoms and was reportedly the only person in the group he was positive for. Donald Trump Jr. has tested negative so far.

“After testing positive, Kimberly immediately isolated herself to limit any exposure,” said Sergio Gor, chief of staff for Trump’s Victoria Finance Committee. “She is fine and will be re-evaluated to ensure the diagnosis is correct as she is asymptomatic, but as a precaution she will cancel all upcoming events.” Donald Trump Jr was negative, but as a precaution he also isolates himself and cancels all public events. “Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. will return from South Dakota to the East Coast, according to a source at the New York Times.

Guilfoyle, who is seen by many in Trump’s orbit as a First Family member, has reportedly had no recent contact with the President. She attended the rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, last month. Several members of the campaign and Secret Service staff have tested positive for coronavirus since that concentration. Herman Cain, the former Republican presidential candidate who was also at the rally, was hospitalized with the coronavirus on Wednesday.

Although Guilfoyle may not have had direct contact with the president in recent days, she was close to many of her supporters. Guilfoyle had not traveled on Air Force One as she and Trump Jr. were in the Upper Plains region hosting fundraising events in the past few days. Guilfoyle “has been with many of the campaign donors” recently, a source tells CNN. She was at an event in Montana that lasted from Tuesday to Thursday and another in South Dakota from Thursday to Friday. Sources say CNN Guilfoyle was not seen wearing a mask at any of the events. Earlier in the week, Trump Jr. posted a meme on Facebook that implied that homemade masks are not helpful in helping to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

People close to the President are regularly screened for the virus, and Guilfoyle is now the third person who was possibly very close to Trump in contracting the coronavirus. A member of the Navy who serves as one of Trump’s personal aides tested positive in May, as did Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary.
