Mediatonic’s whimsical battle-royale game Fall Guys is the latest craze in gaming, and the fervor surrounding the title is spreading from outside gaming circles.
The Washington Capitals of the NHL sent out a tweet asking the developers to add hockey skins to Fall Guys. They made a mock-up with a blue jellybean character with a Capitals sweater, along with a helmet and reason. KFC’s gaming Twitter account also requested a special skin for Colonel Sanders. You can see both of the mock-ups below.
Other brands, including Clash Royale and the Get Well Gamers UK charity, also stepped in to call on Mediatonic to release special skins for the game. Clearly, there is a lot of demand for special skins in Fall Guys, and it will be interesting to see how Mediatonic responds on time.
Fall Guys already has some special skins, including Gordon Freeman on PC and a Hotline Miami skin, so there is some presidency for new skins in the game based on other brands.
With more than 2 million sales points on PC, Fall Guys sets records for Mediatonic and publisher Devolver Digital. The game is free on PS4 with PS Plus, which certainly also helps the game to reach a wide audience.
GameSpot’s Alessandro Barbosa enjoyed his time playing Fall Guys and his variety of mini-games. “With its short gameplay and easy-to-understand mechanics, Fall Guys is easily the most approachable and hospitable battle generous yet,” he said in the GameSpot review. “The bursting color and varied game modes do a good job of keeping an eye on you and keeping an eye on you, even if a handful of feelings conflict with the easy nature of its premise.”
However, it has not been completely smooth sailing, as cheaters fly to Fall Guys to try to gain the upper hand.
