CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kevin Porter Jr., a swingman for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who was arrested Sunday in Mahoning County on suspicion of possessing a gun and marijuana, is accused of stabbing a woman in the face during an August fight in the city’s Cleveland. Were. According to police reports.
Cleveland police told the two women involved in the fight that they would need to follow up on the city prosecutor’s office fees if they wanted to file charges against Porter and his sister. Porter was not charged until Tuesday.
Police reports say Porter fled before police could interview him on the night of the incident.
Porter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, issued a statement Tuesday stating: “There is no truth in this allegation, which is why the allegation is nowhere to be found.” Cavs spokesman Ted Carper did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The incident happened just after midnight on Aug. 16 in the Stone Block apartment building on West Lakeside Avenue and West 6th Street in the Westhouse District, according to police reports.
Two women involved in the fight and two other witnesses gave police a similar version of the incident, according to police reports.
Police reports say Porter’s sister and the 26-year-old woman “exchanged words” when the women were in an apartment apartment on the sixth floor of the building. Cooley’s sister, who was not named in the police report, was punching the woman in the face, according to police.
The woman’s 19-year-old friend told police that Port tore her hair weave and punched her in the left side of her face, police said. A witness told police that Punch knocked the woman in front of the refrigerator.
Unbeknownst to the man at the time of the report, he jumped into a fight and “threw” the 19-year-old woman, according to police reports.
The two women told police they got out of the building, called police and waited for officers to arrive.
Authorities noted that the 19-year-old woman had a mild swelling on the left side of her face and the 26-year-old woman had a broken nail and lump on her forehead. Both refused to be investigated by Cleveland EMS.
Officials wrote in the report that they tried to gain access to the apartment apartment building to interrogate more witnesses, but they could not get inside.
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested Porter around 2 a.m. Sunday when he crashed his car on Interstate 76 near Ohio 534 in Milton Township. Troops said the driver’s fatigue probably contributed to the crash and Porter is not suspected of being injured.
