Kevin Hart is open about his decision to defend his friends Ellen DeGeneres and Nick Cannon amid their respective scandals.
In an interview with Tuesday published Tuesday, the cabaret performer, 41, canceled his defense of his famous friends and spoke out against the culture, saying he knows who Cannon and DeGeneres really are.
“I do not lose sight of the definition of friendship, and in our business it is one thing that people do not really care about,” he said. “There are many relationships that are false, and there are some that are real. In my case, there are those that are real, those that I will always be envious of on behalf of to speak. “
On August 4, Hart posted on Instagram a photo of himself with DeGeneres on her talk show, writing that “this hatred (explicit) must stop.”
Several employees at “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” came forward last month with accusations of a toxic workplace environment, and three executive producers have been fired since the time of the show.
In a video conference with her staff on Monday, DeGeneres, who in an apology to her staff on July 30 said she was apprehensive about “making sure this does not happen again,” expressed her grief at hurting someone’s feelings, acknowledging her imperfection and promised from them to learn mistakes. Season 18 of the talk show premiered September 14th.
Hart has also been open on Instagram about supporting Cannon.
During an episode of his podcast in June, Cannon promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family and praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and his ideology. (The Southern Poverty Law Center recognizes Nation of Islam as a “hate group.”) Cannon also said that “people who are not (melanin) … a little less.”
Cannon finally apologized and announced time away from his radio program when his upcoming talk show was pushed back.

Hart told Deadline that he knows what kind of people his friends are, despite the accusations against her.
“All I can say is my experiences with these people,” he continued. “That is not to take away from what other people are saying.”
Hart also discussed his own experiences with canceling culture. In 2018, the cabaret artist stepped down from hosting the Academy Awards after old tweets from his resurrection emerged that were criticized as homophobic.

“In times like these, I also know how dark it gets,” he said. “I know how lonely it gets because I know these are times when people just turn their backs on you. So for those you love, those close to you, you just want them to have some support. , when it’s like there’s nobody, and that’s exactly who I am as a person. “
Hart notes that he believes he can talk about his relationship with his famous friends without ignoring “the things others say”.
“When it comes to Nick, and it comes to Ellen, I know who they are, and I know who they have been for the years I’ve been around them, and I can only speak in them,” he said. . “Those are two of the most amazing people I know.”
