Kentucky has 721 new COVID-19 cases, 13 new deaths

Frankfurt, Q. (Lex18) – Gov. Andy Basheer announced that there are 721 new covid-19 cases and 13 new coronavirus-related deaths in the state of Kentucky.

Of the cases reported in the new report, 18 were children aged 18 and over, with 15 children under 5 years of age. The youngest was War Run County 6 months old.

“Our positivity rate has been declining since yesterday, but we need to keep that number down,” the government bachelor said.

“We want you to continue to mask, stay away socially and do what it takes to defeat COVID-19. This thing is fatal and it’s real so let’s treat it like that. “

As of Saturday, at least 990,957 coronavirus tests have been performed in Kentucky. The positivity rate is currently 14.114%. At least 10,872 Kentucky have recovered from the virus.

Following the recent spike and daily record of deaths in the new daily cases reported on Thursday, Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack reported the news related to waiting for the Covid-19 vaccine.

“We are waiting for the vaccine, we can do one thing there. We can get a vaccine that already exists: the flu vaccine. Protecting yourself from the flu is more important than ever. Influenza outbreaks on top of the COVID-19 epidemic could be devastating this fall and winter. The healthcare systems on which Kentucky relies can be overwhelmed by what some say is a ‘developed disease.’

If the doctor does not follow guidelines such as social distance, wearing a mask and hand washing, we could lead to “the worst fall we have ever seen, from a public health perspective.” Said Stack.

“Flu shots are widely available right now, and this weekend is the best time to go to your primary care provider or clinic, drug store, or other place offering fur,” said Dr. Said Stack. “In some cases, there is no charge, so please, take one for the team. Take one for Team Kentucky. ”
