Kentucky Basketball: Recruitment experts predict Nolan Hickman to move to the United Kingdom

There seems to be a new name for Kentucky on the recruiting track.

Late Friday night, three Rivals FutureCast predictions were signed in favor of Kentucky for four-star point guard Nolan Hickman. That included a selection from rivals recruiting Guru Evans, who ran his prediction from Kansas to Kentucky.

Hickman, who plays at Wasatch Academy in Utah, is currently ranked 30th overall by 247 Sports and 76th overall by Rivals. He previously played for Eastside Catholic in Washington before transferring in July.

The 6-2, 185-pound guard holds offers from the Kansas Jayhawks, Oklahoma Sooners, UCLA Bruins, Washington Huskies and Arizona Wildcats among others. Most of its big deals have come over the summer.

247 Sports Acquisition Analyst Josh Gershon presents this brief scouting report on Hickman:

Point protection with good size and length. Plus athlete with frame that will allow for strength with maturity. Competitor with impressive mental makeup. Makes nice work balance of shooting and creating for others. Versatile scorer and smart facilitator. Strong on ball defender. Has both high floor and high ceilings. Easy high head starter with NBA top.

The predictions for the Wildcats to land Hickman came just after they offered fellow 2021 recruits Hunter Sallis and Bryce Hopkins. Sallis is also a point guard, and Kentucky is still trying to land 2022 point guard Skyy Clark, who could reschedule in 2021.. But given how Kentucky is chasing multiple point guards in 2021, one has to wonder if Clark is really meant to stay on in 2022.

Whatever the case, Hickman looks like a promising recruit who could make a big impact at Lexington, even if it takes a year or two of development.
