A billboard claiming justification for Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Ky. Was damaged by vandals adding a giant red blob of color from her forehead.

The billboard is part of a statewide campaign of 26 identical billboards demanding that police involved in Taylor’s death be arrested and charged.

A spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department told Fox News that officials were “made aware of the damage” on the billboards via social media.

“When officers came to check on the billboard, no damage was visible,” the agency said. “As of this writing, no reports have been submitted.”

WLKY reported that the sign was later cleaned up or replaced.

Taylor was shot several times March 13 when police officers broke into her Louisville apartment with a no-knock alert during a drug investigation. No drugs were found.

Taylor’s death was one of several this year – including that of George Floyd, who was caught on video – that caused a national urge to end the excessive use of force by police against Black people.

The billboards were sponsored by O, The Oprah Magazine, and went on display shortly after Oprah Winfrey released her August issue of the magazine with Taylor’s face on the cover.

The billboards have a clear call to action: “Tell them the police involved in the murder of Breonna Taylor are arrested and charged. Visit toFreedom.com”

Winfrey is also quoted on the billboard as saying, “If you turn a blind eye to racism, you become an accomplice to it.”

The vandalism incident occurred a day after former First Lady Michelle Obama gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention, with distinction from presidential nominee Joe Biden, urging the country to come together and condemn racial injustice.

Obama named Breonna Taylor because she counted several black people who “continue to murder” in police incidents.

“And here at home, as George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and an endless list of innocent people of color continue to murder, claiming the simple fact that a black life matters is still met with ridicule from the nation’s highest office, “Obama said. “Because when we look to this White House for some leadership or comfort or any semblance of solidity, what we get instead is chaos, division and a total and complete lack of empathy.”
