Kenneth Waker, whose girlfriend Brenona Taylor was killed during a boatfighting raid by Louisville police in March, has filed a civil complaint against the city and police department alleging police misconduct. Vaker Kar, 28, was charged with self-defense shooting during a fatal raid. While Kentucky’s lawyers later denied the charges of assault and murder, the new lawsuit alleges that “he has suffered a lifelong trauma, yet he considers it a risk and fears of being harmed by those who deprive him of his freedom again.” Is. ” He adds: “Kenny continues his life with the death of love, but he is a victim of police brutality and has survived – a crime that threatens his freedom to this day.”
Walker is seeking indefinite financial damages from the LMPD, as well as from Louisville City for assault, battery, false arrest and imprisonment, malicious proceedings and many other claims. The lawsuit also alleges that the LMPD “endangered Kenny’s life, illegally detained Kenny, interrogated him under false pretenses, blocked his account by neighbors and arrested and jailed Kenny.”
