Kenneth Branagh’s big mustache returns in Death on the Nile

The last time we saw Kenneth Branagh’s Hercule Poirot was in 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express. The detective is back for Death on the Nile, who also sees Branagh’s return as director.

This time, Poirot is on vacation in Egypt, but finds his detective skills tested again when a love triangle turns sour. Instead of conducting the investigation on a train, it is now on a riverboat steamer in which everyone is a suspect. The trailer is full of romance and jealousy as Simon Doyle (Armie Hammer) appears to leave Jacqueline de Bellefort (Emma Mackey) for Linnet Ridgeway-Doyle (Gal Gadot). This is the third time that this particular Agatha Christie story has been adapted for the screen.

The film’s cast is full of famous names, with Letitia Wright, Annette Bening, Sophie Okonedo, Rose Leslie, Russell Brand, Dawn French, and Jennifer Saunders among the suspects. Tom Bateman also returns as Poirot’s buddy Bouc, and Branagh’s impressive pronged mustache returns as himself.

The film is set to hit theaters on October 23.
