Spencer Grammer, the actress daughter of “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammer, was doing the right thing in dealing with a drunkard who wielded blades and finally cut her off in front of a Manhattan restaurant, she said Sunday.
“My friend and I did what anyone else would do in the same situation,” Grammer said in a statement issued through her representatives. “Several others, predominantly women, were also trying to prevent the altercation from escalating.”
The voice actress for Rick and Morty, 36, and her friend Jan Phillip Mueller, 32, were enjoying a Friday night at the East Village restaurant The Black Ant when an apparently intoxicated man demanded a table, according to police sources.
With the Second Avenue meeting close to closing time, workers tried to reject the man, but he was furious and pulled out a knife, sources said.
When customers, including Grammer and Mueller, attempted to ease the tensions, the hungry hollow-head shot the gun at them before running off.
“I suffered a laceration in my arm and my friend was stabbed in the back, but fortunately he suffered no serious internal injuries,” said Grammer. “We hope to recover quickly.
“We want to thank the first responders and staff at Bellevue Hospital, who provided excellent care,” he continued, adding a tip of the cap amid the coronavirus pandemic. “They fought an incredible battle this year. It was very moving for us to have the opportunity to thank them in person. ”
Investigators on Saturday night released images of the suspect, a bald man last seen in a white T-shirt and dark-colored shorts.
