Kelly Clarkson burns back after being shamed as a working man

Kelly Clarkson is proud to be a working mom.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show” host and “The Voice” coach took to Twitter on Thursday to defend her work-life balance after a troll on social media said her “marriage did not work” because of Clarkson’s hectic schedule.

‘Wow,’ tweeted the mother of two. “Shame on a woman who has a great work ethic, is a great mother, and who comes up and completes when a friend asks for an advantage, because that’s actually what ‘good old country girls’ do.”

The alum “American Idol” filled out for Simon Cowell on “America’s Got Talent” this week after the British star broke several parts of his back during an electric bike accident.

“I’ve been waiting for this for years,” Clarkson wondered during the show. “I love Simon, but I’m getting used to this chair. I’m just saying, take your time. I can use another job.”

While Clarkson was praised for prompt filing for her longtime friend, including Cowell herself, one social media user blamed Clarkson’s busy schedule for her divorce.

“Now Kelly is taking Simon’s place … no wonder her marriage didn’t work out,” user @ AnnieB64135937 said Thursday. “Surprise she has time for her kids … not the good old country girl we fell in love with … it’s all about Kelly on TV … and no one else.”

The “Miss Independent” singer filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock in June after nearly seven years of marriage. They share daughter River, 6, and son Remy, 4.

Clarkson told the Twitter user that “this can not be who you are deep. I have more confidence in your heart.” She concluded her message, “Aim higher please.”

In 2019, Clarkson said her family remains her top priority, despite taking on more work responsibilities.

“I love busy,” Clarkson told People magazine. “The schedule is intense, but I actually work really well under pressure.”

She continued: “When we did the schedule for the (talks) show, I was like, ‘I have to leave my kids at school.’ “And I’m always the one who puts them to bed. You just have to prioritize and juggle and people know it’s an important thing. And you do not feel guilty about it.”
