Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen was unhappy when the NFL Network’s countdown of the top 100 players revealed it at number 77.
Allen tweeted that he thinks he should be in a higher position, and he named three players: Tyreek Hill of the Chiefs and Mike Evans and Chris Godwin of the Buccaneers, whom Allen thinks are too high if they are in the Top 70. .
“Okay, I’m tired of biting my tongue, @cheetah, @ MikeEvans13_, @chrisgoodwin (and the list goes on) They are NOT a better receiver than me! Faster than me every day of the week but with separation. CHILD, PLEASE! Allen wrote, while tagging Hill, Evans, and Goodwin, and misspelled Goodwin’s name and Twitter identifier.
That generated this response from Evans: “You tagged Chris Godwin wrong hahaha and don’t be mad at us, we are not in the ranking nor do we care about them. I like confidence, but be realistic, not on my brother level.
Players like Evans often profess not to care about these ratings, but Allen has shown that some players care a lot and feel disrespectful when ratings don’t put them where they think they belong.
