Katy Perry has admitted that she nearly committed suicide during her months apart from boyfriend Orlando Bloom in 2017.
“I had broken up with my boyfriend, who is now my future dad,” the 35-year-old pop star told Hollywood actor CBC Radio.
With his career “on this path [of] always going up, going up, going up, going up, going up, going up, “she hoped her album released at the time,” Witness, “would leave her” flying high “and help heal her heart ache.
“But the validation didn’t make me feel good, so I just crashed,” he said.
The album went to # 1 but received mixed reviews, which she recognized as the “smallest change” in her career.

“He had given a lot and literally broke me in half.”
Finding unspecified ways to be grateful “probably saved my life,” said the “Roar” singer.
“Because if I didn’t find that, I would have wallowed in my own sadness and probably jumped,” he said.
Still, Perry called it a “necessary breakup” that helped her be “more dimensional than living my life like a thirsty pop star all the time.”
She insisted that even her happiest songs are often written when she is in “the worst place in my life.”
“I write these songs that are hopeful because I need hope first of all, or I’m not going to get out of bed,” he said.
Blocking coronavirus has been the latest test, he admitted, calling it an “incredibly overwhelming” and “intense” time.
“Your worst demons appeared at your front door, knocked on your door and said: ‘Can I hold hands for three months? … You can’t run away from me now, ‘”he said with a smile.
Perry parted ways with Bloom, 43, in early 2017, but they reconciled later that year. She is pregnant with their first child together.
The couple reportedly postponed their wedding due to the coronavirus.
