Katy Perry accepted the Gracie Effect Award for Women’s Engagement at the Media Foundation and presents ‘What a Woman’.


Katy Perry received the Grace Effect Award Thursday night (Sept. 10) from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) for her positive impact on society through her music.

Perry didn’t just release her feminist song “What makes a woman” from her new album Smile, But she spoke with a true testament to the power of women during her acceptance speech at the 45th Annual Grace Awards.

“I believe that women are very strong and versatile and well-equipped to take on many different jobs,” the pop star revealed during his speech. She is the champion theme of “What Makes a Woman”, which she wrote for her daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.
