Kate and Prince William sent shockwaves via social media last night when Kensington Palace announced that their charitable platform, the Royal Foundation, had awarded nearly £ 1.8 million to 10 leading charities focused on mental health and front-line staff. Many royalty fans turned to Twitter and praised the Cambridges for their charitable effort.
Among them, some hailed Kate and Prince William as Queen and King as they expressed their pride in royalty.
The Twitter user with the nickname Queen of Universe wrote: “Well done King and Queen! This is how it’s done!”
Another, Sam, added: “So proud of our future king and queen.
“Every time I see them doing their charity work and the way they are with their children shows me that they are the right people for the job. #Theroyals #kingandqueen #keepupthegoodwork.”
A fan account of the couple called The Cambridges added: “You two will be a great King and Queen someday and I am very proud!”
“This is incredible news! I am sure the Fund will help millions of people.”
The Royal Kate and Prince William Foundation created a tailored fund, part of the organization’s response to the COVID-19 crisis, Kensington Palace announced yesterday.

In revealing the grant, Kensington Palace also posted photos of Kate and Prince William meeting with representatives of four of the charities that the Royal Foundation is going to assist.
Among those who spoke to the Cambridges were two first responders and two mental health advisers.
The couple heard about the challenges organizations face and how mental health support will be needed for both those who work on the front lines during the pandemic and those who provide vital support to the nation.

With this grant, Kate and William also renewed their promise to change the conversation about mental health and help key workers who have been under stress at the height of the pandemic.
In a statement, the palace explained: “As a result of The Royal Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund, and in collaboration with NHS England, there will be individual pain trauma counseling from Hospice UK for all front-line workers.
Additionally, more than 250,000 emergency responders will have access to peer support, training and mental health resources from the Mind’s Blue Light mental health support program, taking advantage of support that is already available from other sources, including employers and Our Frontline. ”
Kate and Prince William first supported the Our Frontline initiative launched by various mental health charities in April.
In a video declaring his support for this platform by providing 24/7 help to key workers struggling during the pandemic, Prince William said: “Every day they face traumatic situations at the same time that they have to deal with their own concerns about the risks to themselves and their families.
“That comes at a real cost, and as I have seen for myself through my work with the Air Ambulance, without the right support at the right time, the challenges they face will only be greater.
“Catherine and I, together with the Royal Foundation, will do everything possible to support Our Front Line.
“This work will be our top priority for the coming months.”
