Kate and William wrestle with Princess Diana’s tradition to make Prince George laugh | Real | News

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are tasked with building and dealing with a series of incredibly noisy toys for Prince George because of Princess Diana. The Princess of Wales reportedly had a joke with her friend Julia Samuel where she would present her son with cheeky gifts, a tradition that Mrs. Samuel decided to continue when she was named George’s godmother. Speaking on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast, she said, “She was my son’s godmother, so I do to George what he did to us, which is to give impossible, very noisy toys.”

It takes a lot of work. I arrive a little inclined by the size of the gift and William has to spend days putting everything together, putting all the machinery together.

“And then it makes terrible noises and flashes of light and all that.”

“That makes me laugh, and it makes George laugh.”

Mrs. Samuel also noted that Prince George had inherited some “cheeky” traits from Princess Diana while talking about her relationship with the Royal Family.

She said:He is incredible. He is fun, fighter and cheeky.

“God, she would have loved him so much. That’s heartbreaking for all of them. It’s incredible.”

Mrs. Samuel met Princess Diana in 1987 and they remained friends until the Princess of Wales died in 1997.

In 2014, the patron and founder of Child Bereavement UK was asked by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to become one of Prince George’s seven godparents.

George’s godparents also include Zara Tindall, Earl Grosvenor, and William van Cutsem.

And earlier this week, the Duchess admitted that a small competition she had devised had left George a little “grumpy” when Prince Louis had moved on.

Speaking during one of her first public visits since the closure began, Kate said, “The kids really enjoy growing their sunflowers.”

“Louis is winning, so George is a little sulky about that!”

George was also reportedly expressing some disappointment at being forced to keep up with his literacy work, while Princess Charlotte concentrated on handmade projects.

The duchess said: “George is very angry because he wants to do Charlotte’s projects.

“Because making things like spider sandwiches is so much better than doing literacy!”
