Kanye West’s presidential offer ends after 10 days, or a ‘Scaramucci’ (report)

From “The College Dropout” to 2020 dropout.

Kanye West has finalized his presidential bid after just 10 days, according to a new report in New York magazine’s The Intelligencer.

“He’s out,” adviser Steve Kramer told the publication on Tuesday. “I’ll let you know what I know once I cancel all of our stuff.”

Fox News described Kramer as a “voting specialist” hired by the rapper to help put his name on ballots in Florida and South Carolina. At least 180 people were hired for the West campaign, according to Kramer.

West, who entered the presidential race on July 4, has yet to confirm or deny the report.

“According to my calculations, @anyewest’s presidential aspirations lasted a full Scaramucci,” former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci tweeted on Wednesday.

Scaramucci, also known as “The Mooch,” was fired from his role in the White House after 10 days in 2017.

West, 43, denied rumors that his presidential offer was a publicity stunt for his upcoming new album or his new clothing deal with The Gap. Hip-hop star and husband Kim Kardashian told Forbes last week that he was no longer supporting President Donald Trump – “I am taking off my red hat with this interview” – and was concerned about the United States’ response to the coronavirus pandemic, claiming it tested positive for Covid-19 in February.

But West threw his non-MAGA hat into the ring too late to appear on the ballot as an independent candidate in at least six states, including New York and Texas, and his 2020 platform left many wondering how serious he was.

‘You told Forbes that he would run as a third-party candidate at the birthday party “because when we win, it’s everyone’s birthday”, his campaign slogan would be “YES!” and his running mate will be a preacher named Michelle Tidball. He also said he is anti-vaccine, anti-abortion, and pro-Wakanda, the fictional country of Marvel’s “Black Panther”.

“Many Africans do not like the film and the portrayal of themselves in … Wakanda,” he said. “But I’m going to use the Wakanda framework right now because it’s the best explanation of how our design group will feel in the White House.”

West also told Forbes that he is willing to win, but agreed that he might not win in November.

“Let’s see if the appointment is in 2020 or if it is 2024, because God appoints the president. If I win in 2020, it was God’s appointment, ”said West. “If I win in 2024, that was God’s quote.”

West’s departure leaves the 2020 race largely between incumbent Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden, who secured the nomination in April and has been endorsed by Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Elizabeth Warren, former President Barack Obama and 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Howie Hawkins of Syracuse represents the Green Party in the presidential race.
