Kanye West Asks Fans To Help Bring Him To South Carolina’s Presidential Ballot | 2020 US elections

Kanye West has asked fans to sign a petition asking for it to be added to the presidential ballot in South Carolina.

The rap superstar announced that he would run for the White House on July 4, tweeting: “Now we must deliver on America’s promise by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for President of the United States. “

But doubts persist about how seriously to take your gamble.

West, who voiced support for Donald Trump and said he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, said he will model his White House on fictional land in the superhero movie Black Panther, saying, “Let’s go back to Wakanda.”

This week it emerged that he qualified to appear on the Oklahoma presidential ballot after Wednesday’s deadline to register as an independent candidate. But it seems that the limit to run in South Carolina was lost. According to the Federal Electoral Commission (FEC), that state also had a deadline on Wednesday.

Apparently hoping that public opinion can influence officials, he tweeted, “If you are a voter in South Carolina, sign this petition to put me on the Ye 2020 sponsored ballot.”

The online petition is paid for by the Kanye 2020 political committee, which filed documents with the FEC this week, indicating that West, who is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, is serious about the application.

Ben Jacobs, a former reporter for The Guardian who is now appearing for New York Magazine and who has closely followed West’s movements, reported that the rapper began making moves to get to the ballot in Florida before retiring.

After missing the voting deadline in Sunshine State, West applied to be on the ballot in Oklahoma, which simply requires a check.

On Saturday, Jacobs reported that the petitions were available to be signed at nine locations across South Carolina. A host told the magazine that people had come “from time to time” to sign West’s petition.

The Kanye 2020 committee has submitted a declaration organization form, also known as FEC Form 1. The next step would be to file a declaration of candidacy, or FEC Form 2.

It is filed when a person has raised or spent more than $ 5,000 in campaign activities, triggering candidacy status. No record of a Kanye 2020 FEC Form 2 appeared online as of Friday.
