Kansas Jehxx Footb .L Coach Les Miles Tests for Coronavirus

Coach Les Miles of Kansas Jayax has tested positive for coronavirus, the university announced Thursday.

Miles, 66, learned about her positive test on Thursday and began to be alone at her home. He will remotely manage his head-coaching responsibilities and will not participate in the team’s upcoming systems.

“Although I will not be able to physically participate in practice at the present time, I will use the technology available to stay connected for remote working during staff meetings, meetings with players, etc.,” Miles said. “Thank you for your prayers and support in advance. I look forward to defeating this virus and returning with my team very soon.”

Kansas is closed this week before reopening on Oct. 17 in West Virginia.

“At the moment, we believe [Miles] “Based on other test results, no other coaches have tested positive,” Kansas Athletic Director Jeff Long said in a statement. Until Coach Miles develops symptoms or develops a fever, we assume he will be able to coach the West Virginia game on October 17th.

Long said the test was confirmed by surveillance testing and was passed through contact tracing protocol with health officials.

“We wish the coach a speedy recovery and hope to get him back on the field very soon,” Lange said.

Miles is the second FBS coach to announce a positive COVID-19 test this week, joining Kevin Sumlin of Arizona. Jason Candle of Toledo, Mike Norwell of Florida and Blake Anderson of Arkansas have all recovered from the virus.

Kansas is 0-3 in the second season of Miles as Cons, after a 3-9 record last season. Miles is 145-67 overall as head coach of the college with the 2007 national championship at LSU, attending two SEC Championships and 14 Bowls.
