Mumbai, 16 August
Actress Kangana Ranaut has taken a spade from filmmaker Karan Johar and his latest production based on Mrs. Pilot Mrs. Pilot Gunjan Saxena, via a poem.
“Karan Johar ke liye shayari arz hai … Humein nasjonalisme ki dukaan chalani hai par deshbhakti nahi dikhani hai. Pakistan se oarloch wali filmein bahut paise kamati hain, Hum bhi banaenge lekin uska skurk bhi Hindustani hai. mein lekin Karan Johar tu kab samjhega also senani sirf senani hai. (A poem for Karan Johar … we want to jump on the bandwagon of nationalism, but will not show patriotism. Films based on war with Pakistan earn money, so we will make such films, but the villains in these will still be Indian. Now the third generation has entered the army as well, when will you, Karan Johar, understand that a soldier is just a soldier?), “read a tweet posted by the Kangana team.
Earlier, she had defeated the Janhvi Kapoor star “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl” via tweets posted by her team.
“All n All GS remains a small film that misses the bigger picture and essence of a soldier’s life. It proves its opponents right, who said we’re here to protect Bharat Mata, but you’re here for equal opportunity, that seems like the movie in the end Gunjan does not win India.SAD, “read one tweet.
“Also what about involuntary desh bhakti, many times Gunjan says in the movie ‘I do not love my nation, I just want to fly the plane’ there was no bow to show that she fell in love with the country n how she’s the true meaning of uniform !! All she says is, ‘Daddy will not let you down.’
It is not only Kangana but also others who have attacked the film. A hashtag alleging that Karan raped the Indian Air Force was on Twitter on Thursday.
Netizens trolled the filmmaker for the sexual bias portrayed in the film, which is based on the first Indian Air Force female pilot Gunjan Saxena, who was part of the 1999 Kargil conflict. IANS
