Kamaru Usman reacts after Colby Covington NBA rips MLB players to strike as protest for Jacob Blake shot

Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington has injected himself into the news after NBA and MLB players went on strike in protest of the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.

It all started when members of the Milwaukee Bucks decided not to play their playoff game on Wednesday night, a domino effect began that eventually led to every NBA game being postponed. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James offered a firefight on social media after Blake was shot seven times in the back and left paralyzed from the waist down.

The cry for justice allowed the NBA and Major League Baseball to postpone games with the basketball league for a potential strike that could cancel the entire season.

In response to the news, Covington took to Twitter to present his thoughts on the subject and targeted the NBA and MLB players who decided to sit out protest.

“Oh wow, you postponed your games ?!” Covington wrote. “Do you want to prove that you are really about change? Close your million-dollar jobs and soft-spoken privileged life play a child’s game, take a massive pay cut, and complete the hottest job in America. Become a policeman !!!! ”

An outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump, Covington has in the past offered his support to police, including earlier this year in social unrest after the George Floyd was assassinated in Minnesota.

Covington’s striking remarks caught the attention of his latest opponent, who offered his own response on Twitter.

“I really wish someone would just break your jaw already,” wrote UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, referring to the injury Covington was initially diagnosed with after a TKO loss in the fifth round.

Usman also referred to an earlier post he made on Instagram with two different videos: footage of the shooting of Blake, who caused civil unrest in his native Kenosha, and a separate incident involving a Caucasus individual was that in a similar situation was caught with police but left without harm.

“That’s dust to think about what the difference is,” Usman said. ‘They are both people. What is the difference? One was black and the other was white. That’s why I posted the video.

“That’s where we’re still living. That’s what I expect to live in every day. That’s very painful.”
