Kamala Harris gave a voice to the silent women of American women

Wednesday was a night of remembrance for the American people that the Democratic Party stands for – and what Donald Trump does not. Since the president of the United States stands for nothing but himself, and earlier in the day underestimated QAnon because they love him, it has not been so difficult for Democrats to remind the American people that they actually want to do things for the country. next to prison children and let the blue states die. It was a night of Democrats making the case for the rights of immigrants, gun safety, action on climate change, and fighting domestic violence.

Not every one of these convention video montages lands, but the one that opened DNC’s Night Three was a strong reminder that a video montage done well is worth a thousand tweets. The gun violence segment reminded us of what Democrats are doing here at the policy level, which is important because in Trump’s time, it’s easy to fall into the “orange man bad” narrative. That is him, of course – and every day he seems to be getting more sensual.

The montage moved on its own, with that mother chatting about her 13-year-old son surviving a shot in the skull but unable to even speak today. But it turned out to be just an introduction to one of the party’s most effective speakers: gunman of gun violence, Gabby Giffords, the former Arizona Congresswoman. Giffords is able to speak of gun violence because her life has been changed forever by shooting in the face of point-blank range. Giffords is also married to former astronaut Mark Kelly, who runs for terrible Martha McSally’s First Chamber of Arizona.
