Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert Uge grew up in Reagan’s Eugene, so he was very familiar with Marcus Mariota’s office before following in his footsteps as a quarterback at Reagan University.
Added a little extra to Thursday night’s game against the Raiders. While on the second possession of the game Carrie injured his groin and that means Herbert had been dodging all night with one of his remaining idols.
Herbert won in overtime and then reflected on what it meant to be on the same field with Mariota.
“Very crazy experience,” Herbert said, by Gilbert Manzano Los Angeles Daily News. “I grew up watching Marcus. He was my favorite player. Only since Eugene, I knew that program very well. To be able to play a couple games in front of him, it’s been really nice to see him off the field. This is everything I ever wanted. “
Herbert holds the record for most touchdowns passed by a crook in a victory, but that may not be a memory that stays away from Thursday night.
