The Snyder Cut trailer is here! If you’ve followed director Zack Snyder on his multiple social media platforms (he’s also a fan of Vero as Twitter), you will be mistaken with the teas for his version of Justice League, landed on HBO Max sometimes next year.
Now throw everything up and feast your eyes on it fol teaser trailer aired Saturday at the end of Zack Snyder’s Justice League panel on virtual convention DC FanDome.
Great things of note from the trailer debuted at FanDome: Our first great look at Darkseid, along with some extra footage from The Flash and Cyborg. The trailer features Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, which is perhaps the most Zack Snyder part of the whole thing.
After retiring due to the death of his daughter and leaving Joss Whedon to complete the film for theatrical cuts, Snyder finally got the green light (and a big budget) from WarnerMedia and HBO Max to watch his superhero ensemble blockbuster and his to bring original vision to life.
Snyder said his cut would appear on HBO Max in four hour-long episodes, but would also be available to watch as a full-length movie once all four episodes were released – which seems … strange. Snyder also said DC is working on a distribution plan for regions where HBO Max is not available.
In the lead up to the 24-hour online FanDome, Snyder has been drip-feeding our styles, clips and design changes from his version of the Justice League of 2017. Recently, we saw a new, spikier design for villain Steppenwolf, plus a short teaser showing the recording of villain Darkseid, which was cut from the theatrical version.
I’m cheating confirmed Superman’s black suit will make an appearance, and there is even talk of a different end-credits scene.
There was also controversy when the trailer leaked early, leading to Snyder leading an online stoush with Forbes film critic Scott Mendelson, who criticized the trailer for being a little too similar to the original.
“[T]his is a movie for adults, “Snyder tweeted.
During the panel discussion, Snyder dropped more details about other abandoned characters such as genius-sized-shifter Atom, Martian Manhunter and The Green Lantern.
