A federal judge in Pennsylvania on Sunday stopped the trial of the Trump campaign against the state over how he sends and counts post-votes.

“Having carefully considered the arguments put forward by the parties, the Court finds that the appropriate course of action is at least preliminary. In other words, the Court will apply the brakes on this lawsuit, and allow the state courts of Pennsylvania to weigh in and interpret the state statutes that underlie the federal constitutional claims of the plaintiff, “Ranjan wrote Sunday.

Ranjan had earlier said Trump needed to provide evidence of fraud in the Pennsylvania vote this year because Democrats were seeking it, according to CNN.

The lawsuit over Pennsylvania’s mail-in vote, which the state expanded last year to allow anyone to vote by mail for no reason, comes as Trump continues to vote mail-in and repeat unfounded claims that it leads to voter fraud.

“The president’s fight against the problems of Pennsylvania’s radical new vote-by-mail system has been going on for some time on parallel tracks in state and federal court,” said Deputy Mayor Justin Clark of Trump’s campaign in a statement in response to the judge’s decision to pause the case.

“The judge’s stay today is just an acknowledgment that the plethora of issues surrounding Pennsylvania’s dangerous voting system – including ballot winning and double voting – are affecting both federal and state constitutional issues. The federal court will simply reserve its judgment on this in ‘ “I hope the state court will resolve these serious issues and ensure that every Pennsylvania vote counts – once,” Clark added.
