The Trump campaign still has a massive war chest, reporting that it has $ 295 million in the bank. The Biden camp did not disclose that number on Wednesday, but that did not stop the president’s reelection team from claiming that it maintains a “vast” advantage in the amount of cash available.
Of Biden’s donors in June, 68 percent are first-time contributors to the campaign, O’Malley Dillion said.
Last month, the former vice president reached the threshold of delegates needed to become the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, who will be made official at the convention in August.
Fundraising generally speeds up in the six months leading up to a presidential election, and record donations in part reflect robust online and digital fundraising efforts by campaigns during the coronavirus pandemic.
Biden has a substantial 9.4 percent advantage over the incumbent in national polls, according to a poll aggregation average by RealClearPolitics.
He also leads in several decisive states that helped propel Trump to victory in 2016, including Florida, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Trump insists on public polls if it is ‘false’ and claims that his internal polls are ‘great’, despite reports that even internal polls show he is falling in battlefield states.
The president’s approval rating has slipped with voters upset with his handling of the pandemic and related economic crisis, as well as his response to vigorous protests against racial injustice.
