Joe Biden, DNC raising more money than Donald Trump, RNC for the second consecutive month

Trump had announced a $ 131 million raise just to see Biden raise $ 141 million.

Joe Biden is on the rise in the polls and in his bank account.

The former vice president, along with the Democratic National Committee, announced a massive fundraiser for June, raising $ 141 million and $ 282.1 million last quarter, both record amounts that exceed figures released by President Donald Trump’s reelection effort on Wednesday night.

In June, 68% of donors were new to the campaign and the overall average for online donations was $ 34. More than 2.6 million also signed up to join the campaign, according to a statement announcing fundraising totals for money.

The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee announced earlier that they had brought in a whopping $ 266 million in the second quarter of 2020, which was a record high later, only to be overshadowed by Democrats hours later.

In June, Trump Victory, the joint fundraising committee between the RNC and the Trump campaign, along with other authorized joint fundraising committees, contributed $ 131 million, a significant jump in fundraising for the team of the president after the alleged Democratic candidate in May outraged him. . But still, they face a second consecutive month of fundraising.

Biden and the DNC raised $ 80.8 million in May, exceeding the $ 74 million raised by the Republican joint effort.

Biden’s campaign did not provide a number of cash on hand, but they are still at a significant disadvantage in the war chest against the Republicans, who said he had $ 295 million in the bank.

“It is clear that voters are looking for stable leadership, experience, empathy, compassion and character, and they will find all of these qualities in Vice President Joe Biden. This has been our argument from day one of this campaign, and it will be our winning argument in November. “Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon wrote in an email sent to her followers.

Trump’s $ 266 million second quarter is more than $ 100 million more than he raised last quarter, a 71% increase, according to the campaign.

The defeat in June comes at a time of political danger for the president amid declining electoral numbers, which follows Biden nationwide by nine points, according to FiveThirtyEight, and faces crises like an ongoing pandemic and protests at the level that demand racial justice.

The news also comes weeks after the president’s rally in Tulsa, Trump’s first in months, with lower-than-expected turnout after days of vowing that more than a million followers had requested tickets to attend.

In a recent New York Times / Siena poll, Trump beat Biden by 14 points nationwide, with 50% of registered voters saying they would support the former vice president if the elections were held today.

“The monumental Trump campaign June fundraising campaign shows that people vote with their wallets and that enthusiasm for President Trump’s re-election is only growing,” said Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale at a statement released before Democrats released their total. “No one is enthusiastic about Joe Biden, so he has to rely as much on substitutes as Barack Obama and radical Hollywood elites. In stark contrast, President Trump is drawing on the support of real Americans across the country who have reaped the benefits of their America First agenda. ”

Trump’s reelection effort has now nearly raised $ 1 billion, crossing more than $ 947 million raised in the past two years with second-quarter numbers on Wednesday, according to the Trump campaign.
