JJ Nelson has a knee injury

The San Francisco 49ers need to put the rest of the pass-catchers in a bubble wrap until the start of the season.

Niners had another injury for his huge receivers.

Coach Kyle Shanah told KNBR on Friday that newly signed receiver JJ Nelson will be out for two weeks to a month due to a knee injury. Matt Barrows of Athletic per.

In addition, George Keatle has continued to deal with hamstring injuries. Keeping the cautioned TE on the sidelines seems precautionary at this point.

It is the receiver corps that is the big issue for Shanahan.

Nelson signed two weeks ago to add depth after the injuries began to hit the poles. Instead, it becomes the latest to bite by mistake.

Debo Samuel (leg), Brandon Ayuk (hamstring), Jalen Heard (torn ACL on IR) and Richie James (wrist) have also been ruled out due to injuries.

San Francisco added receivers Kevin White and Rivercraft on Thursday. That may not be enough because 49ers lose extensively almost every few days.
