Jimmy John workers in Georgia tied a dough knot: video

Employees at a Jimmy John sandwich shop in Georgia were recorded playing on a rope made from dough, and all were fired.

A 16-second clip posted on Twitter Sunday shows a Jimmy John’s employee in Woodstock poking his head into a knot tied up by another worker. A third employee stood nearby to record the act of hatred, while another person can be heard laughing during the sick stunt, the video shows.

The footage, which was originally posted on Snapchat, also features a “Happy 4th July “filter.

“Some white employees made a rope, look at the DETAILS on the damn rope dough used for sandwiches,” wrote an Alabama man who tweeted the images. “Crazy. They’ve done this before.

In a statement released Monday, Jimmy John’s said that all employees involved in the production of the video were fired.

“The actions seen in the video are absolutely unacceptable and do not represent the Jimmy John brand or the local franchise-owned team,” the company’s statement continued. “As soon as we were alerted to the video, we notified our franchisee, who promptly investigated and fired all employees involved.”

Store employees will also receive training to “help prevent something like this” from happening again, according to the company statement.

The statement does not indicate exactly how many workers were fired over the video, but four employees in total lost their jobs, reports the Macon Telegraph.

The apology, however, did little to satisfy some customers who said they would never eat at Jimmy John’s again.

“You have lost a family of customers here,” read a response from Twitter.

Meanwhile, someone else suggested that worker training at Woodstock be implemented across the company.

“Not only is making a teasing rope unacceptable, but the way these children behave seems like it is not the first time they have put customers at risk,” reads another tweet. “It’s going to be a while before I eat something from Jimmy John’s.”
