A U.S. academic who resigned after lying about being black has been investigated, George and Washington Washington University have confirmed.
Jessica Krug, an associate professor whose work focuses on Africa and the African Diaspora, admitted in a blog post last week that she was in fact a “white Jew” woman from Kansas City.
The post read: “I have built my life on violent anti-black lies.”
Her colleagues said they were “surprised” by her entry.
In a media post published last Thursday, Ms. Krug said she assumed a false identity that “I have no right to sue: first North African blackness, then US-origin blackness, then Caribbean-origin Bronx blackness.”

In a tweet on Wednesday, George W. Washington and Washington University said Ku Kuru “immediately and effectively resigned”.
“Its classes for this semester will be taught by other faculty members, and students from those courses will receive additional information this week,” it added.

What did she say in her post?
Mrs Krueg described her behavior as “numerous measures of violence, theft and distribution, in which non-black people continue to use and abuse black identities and cultures.”
He added that he also continued ten nong in his personal relationship. She cited mental health issues and the trauma she experienced in her early years, although she said this was not an excuse for her actions.
According to media reports, Mrs Krug also used the name Jessica La Bombalera as an activist. In a video posted earlier this year, he hunted down white New Yorkers for failing to “yield their time for black and brown indigenous New Yorkers.”
Ms. Krug’s educational work includes the 2018 book Fugitive Modernities ama Kisama and Freedix F Freedom, which focuses on the politics and culture of African and African Diaspora societies.
Her case parallels that of race member Rachel Dolejal, who claims to be a black woman. After her parents expelled her in 2015, she was described as “black.”
On Friday, following the publication of her blog post, Mrs. Krug’s colleagues in the GW’s history department issued a joint statement asking her to resign from her position or the university.
The university said it would no longer teach Coorg classes and admitted “many students, faculty, staff and alumni [were] Hurts “.
