Jessica Alba, Ruby Rose, Viola Davis, more celebs call for action in the death of Breonna Taylor with new campaign

Dozens of celebrities join a call for action in honor of Breonna Taylor.

Jessica Alba, Ruby Rose and Viola Davis are just a few of several stars who demanded justice for Taylor on her social media platforms on Monday, which was exactly 150 days from the date she was murdered by police officers in her home.

The campaign calls for accountability to justice and police. It began Monday on social media with celebs sharing photos of themselves in black and white t-shirts that read, “Arrest the Cops Who Killed Breonna Taylor.” The initiative is a collaboration between Phenomenal, an organization founded by Meena Harris, and the Breonna Taylor Foundation.

Alba posted a photo of herself shaking her shirt and a title of the cause.

“It’s 150 days ago that Breonna Taylor was murdered in her sleep by Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove – and her killers are not accused. Too often black women who die in police violence are forgotten. Let’s keep quiet. , holds justification demands for Breonna and her family, and SAYS HER NAME, ‘Alba wrote in the title.

According to Phenomenal, more than 70 celebrities took part in the campaign on social media, including La La Anthony, Mandy Moore, Busy Philipps and Nikki Reed.

LOUISVILLE TOP COPS WALK OUT OF ‘DOG AND PONY SHOW’ CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON BREONNA TAYLOR CASE

Taylor, a 26-year-old medical technologist in Louisville who studied to become a nurse, was shot several times on March 13 after police conducted a no-knock arrest at her apartment as part of a drug investigation.

Her friend, Kenny Walker, told investigators he heard knocking on the door, but thought the apartment was broken into when he fired a shot at Louisville Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly. Mattingly was slapped in the leg and returned fire, along with other officers who were outside the apartment. Taylor was struck by her returning fire in her hall and died on the scene.
