Jennifer Hudson performs powerful ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’ at the 2020 DNC

Jennifer Hudson closed night three of the DNC in 2020 with a moving rendition of “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

Accompanied by two pianists and a saxophonist, Hudson sang Sam Cooke’s song from Chicago Cultural Central, her powerful voice echoing through the empty space.

Hudson’s achievements follow the acceptance of sen. Kamala Harris of the Vice Presidential nomination. “It’s not about Joe or me,” she said, referring to Presidential nominee Joe Biden, “it’s about us.”

The third night of the Democratic National Convention also included performances by Billie Eilish and Prince Royce. Eilish urges viewers to “vote as our lives depend on it.” Speaking after his appearance with Billboard, Royce said that “we need the kind of leader who represents the values of our country and is able to handle the pandemic well that has disproportionately affected our country.”

Former Rep. Gabby Giffords, rep. Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, sen. Elizabeth Warren, and President Obama were among the other speakers.
