Jenna Mourey, better known online as Jenna Marbles, and her partner, Julien Solomita, have watched the latest episode of the Jenna & Julien podcast. The departure follows Mourey’s departure from YouTube after apologizing in the past for making racist videos.
In an emotional final episode on Monday, the couple thanked their fans for listening to their podcast for the past six years.
“I haven’t been on the internet in a while,” Mourey said at the start of the six-minute final.
She has not posted any public content since June, when she announced that she would no longer post on her YouTube channel in a now-deleted video markup, and apologize for, racist content she posted at the beginning of her career . In the video, she showed a clip of her personifying Nicki Minaj while wearing blackface and another of her with a slur referring to Asian Americans.
“This is not OK, and it has not existed on the Internet because it is not OK,” Mourey said in the June video. She had previously deleted the racist videos before including them in her apology video, which she, as mentioned earlier, also later deleted.
Before leaving YouTube, she had 20 million subscribers.
Solomita, who has hosted the podcast solo since Mourey’s online silence, is still planning to stream on Twitch.
“Maybe sometime in the future, Julien and I can do something different … For now, the podcast is over,” Mourey continued. “I just want you to know that I’m doing well. I’m getting help, and I’m just a person.”
