With talks about draining the bubble and 2020 finish again against NBA players, this time in the middle of the playoffs, Celtics star Jaylen Brown has apparently challenged his fellow players to challenge the conversation talking and walking the walk for change, according to ESPN’s Marc Spears.

To Brown, who reportedly told the Bucks that he fully understood her decision to protest Wednesday’s game against the Magic, which means leaving the bubble as it is with the intentions to join the protests and fight against racial injustice and inequality.

“OK, if you leave here, will you just leave and walk with your families and get rid of that loneliness?” Brown would have asked the players per Spears. “Or will you be in the ditches? Are you going to the streets?”

Brown did so himself, advising Boston to Georgia to take part in protests in June, so that his voice carries a significant weight in these talks, and especially so as one of the leaders of the NBPA.

It’s unclear where the league will come from here, really. The Lakers and Clippers have apparently voted against continuing the season, and while it is unclear if they will actually decide to opt out, it is almost impossible to imagine how the league soldier would continue with LeBron James, as did Kawhi Leonard , decide to go home,

That players hope to get a clearer picture on their next steps on Thursday, with a meeting scheduled for 11 a.m., and with Thursday’s slate of playoff games (including Game 1 between the Raptors and Celtics) appearing “unlikely” to continue as originally planned.
