Jason Peters Injury: Eagles’ offensive lineman to miss the rest of 2020 season

Jason Peters would have already played his final snap in the NFL.

Or at least his last with the Philadelphia Eagles?

De Pedge confirmed to the Padres that the 39-year-old offensive lineman will soon be missed for the rest of the 2020 season. He added that Peters is choosing to have surgery on the toe injury he is undergoing.

Most Eagles fans won’t be sad to see Peters leave the starting lineup. He has struggled most recently with a total of 15 pushes – including five sacks allowing in the last three starts.

Still, this is a frustrating way to get out of the future Pro Football All-Hall of Fame and the All-Time Eagles Legend. Peters will be a free agent after this season and will only call it a career, although he previously showed interest in playing in the 40s.

It’s been a fantastic year for Peters ’legacy. “Strange” there is a generous narrator.

It looked like the Eagles were finally going to overtake Peters when they allowed him a free agency check. Following Brandon Brooks’ injury, the Eagles brought him back to play a proper defender until Peters signed. (For the record, however, there was talk of an inevitable return before Brooks was injured.)

Andre Dillard, who was left-handed after the forecast, suffered an injury at the end of the season at training camp, with Peters expected to easily return to his old position. But he sought to raise a lot and eventually bound the Eagles after some initial resistance.

Peters then struggled on the left before facing an injury that caused him to lose a few games. Defeating the Eagles fans he eventually returned to replace the promising young left-hander Jordan Melata in the starting lineup.

The Eagles recently moved Peters back into the guard after rejecting Lane Johnson during the season. He struggled there too and now it’s over.

It may be difficult for some to ignore the frustrating way in which Peters’ career ended in Philly. But, if not now, then at some point in the future Peters ’legendary career should be appreciated. This is a lineage with a Super Bowl ring, nine Pro Bowl honors and two first-team All-Pro selections. It has been a wonderful journey for a player who entered the league as an unprofessional rookie free agent tight end.

Returning to the Eagles’ short-term vision, it will be Net Herbig who will take Peters to the right guard. And that means Philly will use his 12th different starting offensive line combination in 13 games this season.
